France, Germany, and Russia fought some minor battles which had little consequences. The ethnic minorities chafed in Austria-Hungary that was the final remains of the Holy Roman Empire. It was reasonable that Europe would remain at peace for such a long time in 1914 was a false assumption of the people. In 191, Europe has often been compared to the powder barrel. That is, it is safe and secure until fuse was lit.

Ferdinand was the heir or the next emperor of Austrian-Hungary, and there were rumours about the ethnic Serbians in Sarajevo regarding the assassination attempt. Archduke, along with his city, roamed with the belief that the city was safe, but their belief was proved wrong by the Black Hand group.

Many members of the black hand in the Sarajevo were given the orders to kill the Archduke. Archdukes and his wife just missed the death narrowly when the terrorist threw a bomb into their car. The driver then sped up, which let the bomb bounce off the armed land of Archduke behind his car. The next car that was following Archduke’s car was destroyed, injuring many people. Princip, who was one of the members of the Black Hand, got the opportunity to kill Archduke when his car stopped in front of a café. It was yet another chance to kill Archduke.
